Im having the same issue. I put led's in the map lights and dome light. Worked fine for two weeks. A few days ago the fuse blew. Replaced it and the interior lights stay on while in door position. I've already tried all things mentioned in the posts above. My baby will go to the dealership in a few days for this issue. I'll keep you guys posted on what they find. Oh and yes I've put the stock halogens back in.

Not trying to be a dick here, but are you going to tell them the truth about what happened?

I had some problems when trying to install LED brake light bulbs on my 2012 Tundra. they keep toasting my fuse and causing none of my other exterior lights to work so I gave up and put the halogens back in.

being that a LED takes much less resistance than halogen, what happens if you had a resistor in parallel with the LED?

I'm afraid to jump start someone let alone change out the bulbs for LED's.

Had a tundra with a shorted dome light. Fried the circuit in the body control module.

another thing, is that the switch itself could have blown and fused the door and on together

since no one asked, where did OP get the lights from? ebay? Amazon? or from vleds?

have not had 1 issue with my vleds, even moving them from the 2012 Tacoma to the 2016.

I received my LED bulbs last week from Super Brite LED'S like most on here seemed to recommend....but didn't install them yet...after reading this thread I contacted the vendor and requested to return them....I'm not going to have electrical problems over a bulb that is 1/2 inch long....once those things start happening, its like gremlins, they just keep popping up everywhere! Wow, am I glad I didn't install them...

Ok any technical ghurus here? Why would LEDs make a difference? Perhaps some contacts were shorted out that blew the fuse. THAT is what the fuse is for! If some control module is damaged then obviously the fuse did NOT work.

Please keep us posted to what you find. I have zero problems with mine from superbritelights....and I don't want anything to happen to my system.

I replaced the light too and I have no problem but don't know what to tell you . Sorry just maybe play with the fuses. Good luck but while you are replacing dome light you should also replace map lights too just be careful not to cut yourself with the shape metal edge.

Can you go to the head unit: setting-vehicle to reset the interior lights?

A fuse will protect the circuit from overloading when shorting power to ground. It will not protect shorting power to a computer controlled circuit. If you short power to a computer controlled wire you can burn the contacts out.

Installed Cooper At/3's (265/70R16) and ProComp 7089 Rims. Tinted front windows. Did the Fog Light Anytime mod. Did the tailgate mod. Added running boards. Adding sound Deadening from RAAMaudio. Replacing stock speakers with Polk Audio DB6501's.
Then every light would stay on :)
