Hands down to Officers whom take upon to duty of apprehending these people. I had gotten bit in the face during a bar fight. The doctor told me I would have been better off being bitten by a stray dog.

So his court date was today. The official docket said "preliminary hearing" so I didnt have much hope to hear a sentencing. I was just hoping that they would not take it easy on him. So heres what happened.

Based on what I saw form all the other cases that went on before his, which started four and a half hours late, this was my interpretation. They brought him in in a jail jumpsuit. He has been in custody since the incident about 6 weeks ago or so. The defense attorney went over to him while they were hearing another case and went over some paperwork with him. I assume this was a plea deal. I could see him kind of smile like he was pleased with what they were telling him. After about 10 minutes I watched him sign it. The defense attorney then handed the packet to the clerk. She went over it and handed it to the DA that was prosecuting the case. I was afraid that it was going to be a slap on the wrist and I kind of got worried. About 30 minutes later, the sheriff in the court took him back out of the courtroom. I was confused. Then the DA walked over to the defenses table and looked at his attorney and said, "We are not accepting his plea. We are going to take this in front of a judge".

I wasnt 100% sure that I had heard what I thought I had heard and so I asked the defense attorney if the case was going to be heard today and he said that it was moved to a different court and would be heard in 2 weeks.

So at the very least, he will spend two more weeks in jail. I was very pleased that they are taking this seriously. I watched case after case today get plead down to next to nothing. The difference I think was that in all of those the judge mentioned that there were no aggravating circumstances. Obviously, in this one there was. It seems, at least for now, that justice may still be served.

Ill report back on July 23 when he goes back to court. And I will be there watching.

    Cheers everybody:cheers:

Thats funny. I was talking to a friend today before I went to court and he either didnt know (lives in TN) or had forgotten about it. He was like, "Man I would have beat that guys ass"....... I love the guy, but he couldnt whip a 12 year old girl if she didnt want him to. Everybodys a bad ass.

I was not asked to be there. I just want to hear the judge sentence him. Now that the DA seems to want to go after the guy, I would not be surprised if I get subpoena'ed though.
