Welcome back! I went from a 2020 ranger to a 22’ Tacoma. Never looked back. When I see one on the road now also I look the other direction. Lmao. Constant issues with that truck and the dealer didn’t want to fix them.
Also it’s sad that ford can’t even offer a competitors truck in a manual, when they have the setup for it too.

Congrats on the new rig! I too suffered a similar fate only with a Chebby 1500 diesel. Poor decision making skills on my part!

I recall going to check out a Ranger at the dealership. Two people came up to look at the trucks I was looking at, and told the sales associate they were there to buy their second Ranger. I really found that to be difficult to believe.

Some people just like fancy and shiny things. New Colorado has a beautiful interior but I'd never buy one. They want the giant full dash touchscreen and leather massage seats in their trucks. I just want mine to start and stay out of the shop.

Might as well trade a 911 Turbo for a Maserati Ghibli.

I've owned one Ford throughout my life and it was a trade in from a Wrangler to a Focus because I wanted better MPG and I wasn't doing any outdoors stuff. The focus had a clutch shutter due to the stupid CVT dual clutch system they had in the 2014s, Ford told me nothing was wrong but when I showed them other people with the same issue they finally decided to fix it.... by flashing the PCM. After the 4th time I brought it back, the tech I knew there pulled me aside and said, "As soon as I flash this thing again you trade it in as fast as possible." Ended up with a CRV until sold that and bought my current car, 2011 Tacoma V6 4x4.

I'll give my old ranger credit where it's due it survived 2 deers but it did have 2 transmissions die. It's was an 06 so back when they looked good. Having experience with my present f150 work truck problems I would never get rid of the tacoma for a present ford. Maybe one they get their quality control back in check.

Some of the older Rangers are beasts and like the Timex watch take a licking and keep on ticking.
    Newer ones, not so much.

At the end of the day it comes down to this.

Welcome back OP! I did ask at the local ferd dealer about a ranger a couple years ago, I needed a new truck and didn't know where to turn now that GM is racing chrysler to the bottom of the quality barrel. Ferd boy said yep, you get this engine and this transmission. I said thanks but no thanks, you can keep your race car shit I want a simple truck that will last.

I got a Tacoma, my first ever Toyota, and I love it!

An old co-worker I know has the Tremor, it's nice looking and nice riding but it's been to the dealership numerous times for little things. He has had it a few years and swears ha made a mistake. He was put in a rental on more than one occasion and it's been the Nissan Frontier and he thinks it's a lot better than the Ranger, so he wound up in a 2023 Tacoma SR5 and could not be happier. Congrats OP, enjoy your new ride.
