So, I am not typically one to ask for help or to bring things like this to a major forum... but my cousin's husband found out he has cancer recently. Well, today they had to remove his left foot to hopefully stop all the cancer from spreading. He married my cousin and took her and her 3 kids in without even blinking.

I am not good with words, so I am going to post directly from the fund site...

I was born with a very rare birth defect in my right foot. The first diagnosis for me was complete amputation, and most likely a wheelchair. My parents decided to get a second opinion and found a doctor that suggested an experimental surgery that would manage to keep my foot.
I've been through two of theses surgeries, and I did end up having one of my toes amputated. However, this great opportunity allowed me to walk, play competitive sports, and be a normal kid.

Jiah's situation hits home with me. To a smaller degree, I know what he's in for. Its going to be frustrating, its going to hurt, theres going to be nights where the pain keeps you up crying until things heal up. The only part that makes it bearable is knowing you will be able to walk again, so there's no question that he needs help getting that prosthesis. With a condition so similar to my own and the great things God did for my life to be the way it is, I want to help in the small ways that I can.

I'll have a donation in the morning!

Thanks everyone. Mike, sorry to hear about your situation. It's amazing the stories you hear from people when these things are brought up.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Thanks for sharing Brady! I hope the best for Jiah and his family. They seem like really good, strong-willed people (which we need more of in the world). Prayers and support for them!

Thanks again Mike and Art. Thanks Ben! Hopefully they can reach their goals and won't be stuck with huge bills the rest of their lives.

Thanks again Mike! They are getting a decent amount of help, but it seems slow going. Latest pictures have him up and walking around already with the help of a walker.

Nice. Surprised that he'd be walking this soon. At least that's positive motivation. Do you know if he needs hand controls for his vehicles? I don't have any resources for that but maybe someone here has help. I heard of one guy on the forum that wheeled with hand controls due to leg injuries so might be good to look him up for info

Edit - never mind, I just saw it was the left foot. I guess you take what small victories you can, right?

I haven't heard yet. I know it is his left foot though, so it shouldn't effect his driving too much you would hope. He will have the prosthesis on his left when that time comes as well.

Yeah he'll be fine as long as he drives automatic. If he's already doing assisted walking then he should be able to drive pretty soon. Toughest part is getting in and out of a vehicle.

Thanks Ken! Wasn't getting any love here, so I kind of quit bumping. Thanks for those who have helped out!
