    Hi all,

I'm thinking of doing an install of an aftermarket alarm system. I've done car alarm installs on a couple of my previous cars before and was thinking of doing the same kind of alarm on my new Tacoma. The alarm in question is a Crimeguard alarm from Crutchfiled. As for where and what wires to tap into, I'm planning on getting that information from 12volt.com. I'm leary about splicing right away so does anyone have tips or warnings with doing an alarm install on a Tacoma?

well if you are just doing an alarm then its simple....

get ur 12v+ and ign+ wires at the ign switch.... also when doing the starter kill you only need to use the 2nd start wire.

    door trigger use dome supervision.

parking lights.. use the green 12v+ wire above the fuse box.

thats as simple as it is.

What about databus integration? Doesn't the VIP system do monitoring via the databus? Instead of doing the splicing of wires in the ignition harness, wouldn't that be a easier option? Anyone know of any modules to use for databus integration with aftermarket alarm systems?

No one? I've found a product that omega offers and they are the makers for crimeguard alarms I love. Anyone done aftermarket alarm installs integrated with the databus?
