    LCA bushings?

EDIT: Just seeing you mentioned that.

Could also be the brake pad shifting issue but that's not what i'd consider loud like two metal bricks clapping.

I've had two 'bangs' in the past that are similar to what you describe. One was resolved by tightening LCA bolts as they had come loose while off road. The other was resolved by applying a liberal amount of grease to the surface of the front steering stops.

    Good luck tracking this down.

This was my guess too. My driver side away bar touches my coilover. And makes a strange noise if I hit a bump at full lock.

I think mine was hitting after the lift went on too, sometimes. I removed the sway bar and never looked back.

Do you still have your sway bar on? That'd be the first thing I'd check.

Lower ball joints shouldn't make a loud "metal brick on brick" clanking sound but if they are, I wouldn't drive that truck at all and get it towed to the nearest shop. If they were indeed that bad it should be easy to check, jack up the front wheels and see if they have any side to side play in them. If they were that bad there would likely be a bunch of play in them.

figured it out. had the truck at an offroad shop to fix a clunking issue i had. they fixed it. and while they were im assuming they loosend the lower control arm cam bolts. I torqued them back to 100 and each one had at least 3/4 rotation before torquing. some more. i didnt think to re tighten these as i did a few weeks ago. needless to say, wont be going back to that shop again.

I am getting a similar noise. Mine only makes the noise when it is cold and i first move. I have noticed that sometimes the noise happens if with the steering wheel straight i shift into reverse and roll backwards and very slightly tap the brake pedal. It almost sounds like the coilover is loose or something to me, but i think it is my brake pads. Im using autozone pads and their crappy retainer springs.

mine was similar. happened everytime i started cold and backed up. like me, make sure your lower arms are torqued.
does it happen everytime you shift from R to D and D to R and press the brake?
