Frequently you need to drive a short bit before the locker actually engages. The elockers kinda suck in that way, so if you ever need it for an obstacle, turn it on a bit before you need it.

The splines have to line up properly for the diff to lock. No lock? Move forward or back a bit while turning your wheel back and forth. Always works for me

so its fine to drive slowly in 4lo while the locker is flashing at me? i don't need to be still? but it does actually lock and the light will stay on. it doesn't wait for my wheels to slip

It's OK to move while it's flashing, you in fact NEED to move in order to line up the splines

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
Like the other guys I drive vary slowly to get it to engage. Usually while trying to turn to get the splines to line up. Once it is engaged then yes the light will stay on. May also need to do the same to disengage it.

Yeah it's fine, and actually if you stay still it might never lock - again, if the splines ain't lined up it isn't going to happen. In fact, I wouldn't want my wheels to be slipping too much when the locker is trying to engage - could cause damage. That slip thing they told you sounds like traction control tbh

You will be fine, as others have suggested. Move forward or backward to engage. Splines need to line up. Enjoy your truck.

Wheels slipping has to do with crawl control

kinda weird OP but this is basically how it works for everyone reporting here using the locker. just use that info to choose wise places to engage and disengage it, where you have a little room to safely move back & forth. cus being in the wrong place for this can be an issue.
