Dongar Dashcam Power Adapter

Anyone using this dashcam power adapter and have issues with it failing? My dashcam quit working and I plugged it directly into a USB port on my truck and the dashcam works so I know the dashcam is not faulty. I determined that the USB port on the dongle quit working. Plugging the 12-pin adapter directly into the rearview mirror port still supplies power to the mirror. Only thing not working is the USB port. I contacted the company to see what the warranty may be on this.

Anyone else using this adapter have the same or similar issues?

That is the exact same one that I bought. I know that because when I clicked the link, it referenced my Amazon account and said "Last purchased Feb 2021". It has worked flawlessly for me. No issues at all. Maybe you got a bad one or the tech who put it together was being lazy?

If you bought it recently, return it I know Amazon is really great about refunding customers money. Especially if you bought it with an Amazon CC.

 

I purchased this over a year ago and outside of Amazon return window. I contacted company about the warranty but who know if I will hear from them.

I installed it myself since it is so very easy. I might have to order another one since I'm heading out for a one week road trip next Saturday and need a dashcam.

 

My Garmin mini has been on the truck for a year and a half now powered by one of those, even bought the same setup for my wife's Honda Pilot and my Lexus. They have all been completely flawless in operation for both the cams and the plugs, even after baking in the Florida sun when the cars are not in the garage.

 

My Dongar power adapter and Garmin dash cam have worked flawlessly out of the box since Last purchased Jan 17, 2022.

 

One off. It happens just grab another for your trip.

 

I vaguely recall there being an old version and a new version of the adapter, not sure on when the cutoff was but perhaps that might be the reason for the failure?

 

I've had no problems with mine in almost two years. They should get back you, but if not they have an active FB page.

 

I've only had mine since May 9 of this year but not a moment's problem so far. I also have the Garmin Mini and did the install myself. Got it directly from Dongar, Amazon was out of stock at the time.

 

I have one of these to install my dashcam, but I'd really like to find myself a Gentex extension about a foot or so long, so that I could tuck the bucky thing up in the headliner.
If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears, since I have yet to find such a thing.

 

No problem with mine. Only problem I've had was when my dashcam mysteriously bricked itself after I went to the dealership for the 3rd brake light recall lol (I had it unplugged with the SD card out too).

 

I've been using it for my Tacoma for awhile, it's worked so well I got one for my wife's 4Runner.

this product is legit, for my garmin mini

but I now moved on to fuse box hardwired BlackVue 2 ch.

 

Thanks everyone for your responses! I did contact the company about the warranty, but I did order another one for my upcoming trip.

 

not much help, but the dangling ass wire to my dash cam is annoying and something I haven't fixed in 2 years, which isn't like me

I have that with a Garmin Mini, amazing setup - love it.

 

Have had mine since Oct of last year, no issue at all with a Garmin Mini.

 

I’m using mine with a Street Guardian.
