Ordered $1200 of racks from Yakima over Black Friday to put a rack and ski carrier on my diamondback. Of 3 packages, only 2 were delivered, although FedEx claims 3. Brought the issue up with FedEx, and they said they're investigating but to contact the seller - I spoke with Yakima, and they told me:

"Because we show the items were delivered, there is nothing further we can do on our end. You will need to file a claim with FedEx if you have not been able to track down that package."

    While FedEx has told me:

"If you have not located your package by 12/6/2023 12:38:00 PM, please contact your shipper to initiate lost package procedures."

I'm now out $550 in parts with Yakima immediately disavowing the package (and sending me $1200 of shit without signature confirmation). I'm pursuing action with my card company, but don't count on Yakima taking any responsibility for guaranteeing expensive items ordered from them actually reach you.

This is a lesson I've maybe learned a few too many times, but don't order direct from manufacturers. Retailers and distributors are much more accustomed to handling the usual ups and downs of shipping things to people and everything that can go wrong, and are staffed and trained appropriately to handle them.
