    You call it a MISTAKE.

I call it a selfish POOR DECISION. STUPIDITY!!

Everyone's been lectured not to drink & drive. Everyone knows that drinking & driving is illegal and everyone knows it can result in deaths.

Obviously, If he had listened & learned earlier, he would've called a taxi.

i agree with you! but i will admit that one night after a party i drove home, it had been a couple hours since i stopped drinking but i still ended up almost driving off of an overpass and killing myself....i just figured i was feeling fine so it was okay to drive..but really, there are never any excuses and i have never called it a mistake. i could have easily hit someone as i drove up onto the sidewalk...i was incredibly stupid that night!

Where in Vegas? Glad I wasn't in the neighborhood. Sucks it took that to figure out what most people consider common sense, hope you won't do it again.

I have been guilty in the past but I know whats at stake now and wouldn't even chance a short drive if i am buzzed. Glad you are safe and you didn't injure a innocent person. hopefully this will give you all you need to make a better decision in the future.

    Screw this politically correct BS.

Don't drive your truck onto sidewalks. Don't hit walls. Maybe make a list of shit you shouldn't hit.

Legal BAC of .15 is now .08 just cause some dildos can't handle two beers.

    Sheesh.

How about you learn from other people's mistakes and not do it in the first place? With your theory, it makes it sound like it's ok if everyone does it just once.

What gets me is those cases where someone goes to a bar, gets hammered and kills someone. Then they sue the bar! And win! How is a bartender supposed to know how much someone has drank before got to that bar?

Had one friend that was so cross-eyed we once got off work and went straight to a bar, stone cold sober. Bartender took one look at him and said "you're cut off". Buddy said "no man I ALWAYS look this way!".

Another friend that could drink half a bottle of Jack on one sitting and still pass a DUI field sobriety test.

Can't tell when enough is too much!

    None, YET!
It is not a good site when you are the first one to get to the scene of an accident and see an innocent child was killed as a result of a DUI driver. The sad part is that most of the drunk driver's believe that they are in good shape because they only had a few drinks.

Pre plan before you go out for drinks, and a designated driver is not the one who drank the least!!

Oh yeah...All us douches who would prefer to drive on roads where people don't drink and drive. All us douches who listened the FIRST time we got told the DUI= Dumb as shit to do and huge legal penalties for it.

Obvious the OP didn't get it the first time- Seems like he got it this time...If he didn't want heat for his bad decisions- he shouldn't have posted it up...eh??

    Preach on Jan!!!

One of my good friends was driving home one morning from a party... Had slept for a few hours and thought he was sober enough to drive his girlfriend to work.

Well he fell asleep at the wheel, ran into a motorcycle and KILLED 2 people. It was an older couple on a road trip, had 2 kids, one who was still in highschool.

My friend is a great guy who never harmed a fly, now hes looking at a lot of jail time for 2 counts of manslaughter.

    DONT DRINK AND DRIVE

Sad story, but all too common. I had 2 friends I grew up with who got really wasted at another friends bachelor party. Hit a big old oak on the way home - DOA. That was over 30 years ago. The OP still has a chance, no real harm done yet. It's gonna cost him a fortune, but he can change his ways.

^That's the key, will he learn from his mistake before he kills someone? One can only hope. Hopefully by posting here, he will understand a little more about it and not do it again. I mean, he had to realize he was going to get raked over the coals with this thread but maybe he realizes he needs to hear it and that's why he posted.

But, I still have no sympathy. Reap what you sow.
