Those sections must be taken within context. For example...

Georgia §16-11-112 (1) (A) "False or secret compartment" means any enclosure which is integrated into or attached to a vehicle and the purpose of the compartment is to conceal, hide, or prevent discovery by law enforcement officers of:
    (i) A person concealed for an unlawful purpose;
(ii) Controlled substances possessed in violation of Article 2 of Chapter 13 of this title; or
    (iii) Other contraband.

A properly registered and owned firearm is not a person (i), controlled substance (ii), or other contraband (iii). The Utah law you cited also mentions contraband (such as drugs), not other uses.

    Cool mod.
Agree with the statement about having it readily accessable. How fast could you actually get to this?
Second, there are two bolts under your foam that must be removed to take the console out. Would you still be able to get to them easily if required?

The OP already addressed those concerns ("it is very easy to get to as you can just push on one end of the plastic board bottom and the other end comes up"). Regardless, most would use something like this to store the weapon when it can't be carried into a building (store, bar, gov office, etc). Otherwise, the weapon would likely be worn, or placed elsewhere in the vehicle, rather than stored away.

Clean looking, but owning and carrying a gun in he truck, and "I don't want to drop that kind of dough" on a safe, don't jive.

Cool for hiding wallet or something, but if you own a piece, I suggest dropping the dough and making it secure.

Definitely worth saying again. Another example, this mod is 100% illegal here in MA. You either need the firearm locked up and unloaded outside of the passenger area (basically the trunck) or you need it ON your person. I could get my LTC taken away if I left it in the truck and went into 7/11 to buy a drink.

Okay, the laws you quoted have already been shown to not relate to this - apply only to a "secret compartment" to carry illegal contraband (drugs). Once again, a licensed firearm is not illegal nor contraband.

As for MA, you're saying it's "illegal" to take the firearm off your person at any time, for example off your waist and in the passenger seat beside you? That's a darn silly law.

By the way, which law are we talking about - which law makes it "illegal" for a carry permit holder to leave a firearm out of sight somewhere inside the vehicle interior while he runs into a store? While looking over the MA public safety website, I wasn't able to find anything like it in the gun laws for MA.

Yes, check your local laws. MA is one of the left-leaning states. Drive an hour up to VT and you can conceal-carry without a permit.

Now where are the foam cutouts for additional magazines?

Not sure why you seem to have an attitude about my post, I was just making the point that state laws might make this illegal. My states law says you cannot have a concealed firearm if it isn't directly attached to you, so if I did this its illegal for me in my state. I didn't make the law, I just live here.

If you live in the center of a state it's no big deal but if you live near a border and regularly cross state lines you need to be aware of the bordering states laws as well. I don't have time right now but I'll post back the regs for the law I'm talking abut.

Looks real nice but not very effective for protection. If you ever "need" it (and let's hope you don't) you will need it in a flash.
