    Found the Window Sticker from my Stripped 06 Tacoma base model. 14 years later the price went up about $10,000. In addition to Inflation, the 2020 added an extended cab instead of regular cab, Auto trans instead of a Manual, power windows/locks, a hand brake instead of the dash mounted handle, bigger wheels and tires, Apple play and all that infotainment stuff, and a backup camera . HP is EXACTLY the same. These mileage numbers were before the rating system was updated. The 06 felt way slower but I suspect the 5 speed manual just had lousy ratios. The price increase seems more than fair.

    That's very :cool::cool:.
    I'm going to hunt for the sticker for my '96. Know I have it just a question of going though dozens of boxes of old business records.

    Haha no! Ontario, California

    Paid for with home equity as values went up quickly at that time. Kept it for 15 years and 275k miles, and gave it to my son this year for college graduation. A great purchase!

    I saw this exact truck in the brown gray color in a manual for $6500 with 114k miles where I live (private seller). Truck was immaculate and very tempting

    As of 6 months ago, that guy still has that Ford. I hadn't seen him in a decade and when I did I asked if he still had that truck (along with a Moto-Morini Motorcycle he rode) and he responded, "not much ever changes with me, I'll probably have them both when you see me in another 10 years".

    I'm not sure what they did with that 159 HP motor in the last 14 years but the one in my 06 was a complete P.O.S. compared to the one in my 2020. The worst was that 2700 RPM idle when it was cold, supposedly it did that to get the Catalytic Converter operational. People looked at me like I was crazy for racing a cold motor in 0 degree weather the moment I started it. It felt so slow and rough compared to the new one, it's hard to believe they are the same. It worked and got decent mileage, just made more noise than my Subaru when cold.

    I can deal with Inflation, the never ending Tax Increases are what changes my buying habits more than anything.
