    I don't know about many here but my dad got in a bad car accident when we were living right outside of NYC - In the days when the place was really f'd up. He was torn up pretty bad for about a year - both arms broken, 5 ribs, and f'd up leg. (hit by a Gas Tanker and thrown from the car and landed on a grass strip). The insurance gave him $42k.

    He knew where we were living was f'd up! He found a home with that had the best (still today) public schools, took the money, bought the home and moved there all while my mom was in a hospital (for months). He went from a 15 minute commute to work to a 2 hour commute - all so that his kids would have a chance.

    I guess what I am saying is 1. I am VERY THANKFUL and 2. I would hall my ass out of that hell hole as fast as I can at what ever cost it took. Poverty is a mindset I can't afford!
