With all the negative comments about Tacoma's and people choosing different vehicles, I have made a choice to switch. I got a screaming deal, my 2017 flawed Tacoma and $28,000 for this gem. It shifts flawlessly, the mirror is in the right place, there are no funny noises or smells. I don't need a catch can in the PCV to catch imaginary large quantities of contamination. I want to thank all of you for helping me make my decision. You are a wonderful group! May I introduce you to my new beast!

The soccer mom thing is a joke....didn't think it would actually hit a nerve on anybody here, but what the fuck, I've been wrong before. No one here thinks the 4runner is a chick car.

So I guess we can settle we're all playfully kidding on that.

However, there is at least one poster here who regularly states that the 4runner is a superior vehicle because it was made in Japan.....and you're not him....and I'm pretty sure he's not kidding.

    I had a new 4runner for a month as a loaner.

Pros: Interior space, cushier suspension, low end torque, built in japan
Cons: cushier suspension (tons of body roll), no top end torque, bad mpgs, ancient interior

My comments weren't aimed at anyone in particular. I said earlier that I'm all for some friendly trash talking.

I sometimes have a hard time interpreting people's tone on these forums. I apologize if I ovary-acted.

    Whew.

Thank God you clarified that. As a 4Runner and A Ram owner, I thought you were targeting me.
    Mind if I borrow "ovary-reacted"?

I think you should combine your passion. You need to find one of these super rare Toyota Ram 4Runner's like I just saw on the road. It had demonstrator plates on it too, so someone lucky will find this and buy it!

Hang on while I make an announcement....

    Hey TW:

I had previously stated that Japanese built cars were NOT superior to vehicles made elsewhere. I opined that such a wide and ambiguous comment could not be made without any backup or facts.

    I was wrong.

I have irrefutable evidence that Japanese built cars are superior in every conceivable way. I recently learned that we have a member here who's WIFES 2010 4Runner has never been in the shop. This closes all doubt and debate on the subject. Japanese built vehicles are better built, hands down. BTW, this includes you second gen owners who are laughing at this bullshit. Your trucks weren't made in Japan either.

My sincere apologies to anyone who may have been misled by any of my posts to the contrary.

    Regards,

    Skippy

4runnners are great, now post in the correct forum's. My buddies 17 4runner has more problems with fit and finish than my Truck. Wear areas from his arm/pant leg, rattles, and seat wear. His comments have been that he wished the the 4runner had a more rugged interior but understands the trade off.

4 runner are great, I had a 2016 pro, currently the wife has 2019 trd off road premium. We put a dobinson full suspension on it and it rides great on and off road. she gets 17 mpg with 33 bfg ko2 on it. When I was looking to replace my Tundra we talked about another 4-runner, but we occasionally need a truck, so went with the tacoma this time.
