    ^^This.

Keep in mind driveshafts are balanced as an assembly. That could be why yours is vibing- if it had one and is now gone. however! re-installing a random one would probably be wrong too, as it would need to be installed, then the entire driveshaft assembly with new part re-balanced, if you were interested in "doing it right"

Agreed though, does not appear to be a giubo. Apologize for that miscue. The above though certainly applies.

Hey, no worries on the miscue. = ) Any insight, wrong right or indifferent, help fuel ideas on what it could be. I just appreciate someone else's insight. So kudos and thanks!!!

As for doing it right, you are right... If its really a pressed on item, then chances are very high its balanced with it on.... Therefore it being missing could cause an UNBALANCE which might drive the small vibration I feel. And doing it right, is removing it, taking it to the drive shaft guys and having them balance it AS IT SITS NOW...

= ) I will get on it and give you feedback. = )

    Thanks again everyone

Due to the yoke having floating splines to allow movement, it's naturally going to have play.

Did some Tacomas not come with a dust cover shield thing?.... When I took it off to get the U-Joints done it didn't have one then either.

If some didn't come with them, could the drive shaft be balanced and not need to be rebalanced?

    Hmmmmmm

I think its only $30 or $40 bucks to balance the drive shaft if I take it off, take it to the guy and leave it with him for a few days.... Humph!!!

it is a propshaft damper useful when overdriving the propellor and reducing 'funny noise' complaints from owners

I looked it up on the internet and it looks more like a carrier bearing or a center bearing or something other than the o-ring thing I need. But I will see if I can find more on it. Thanks.
