I decided to perform my first speaker upgrade in my garage this evening and all was going great until I messed up the cable assembly on the front passenger door. The green cable should go on the bottom, white on the top but unfortunately I had a brain fart and did it backwards. Anyone know how I can possibly get my door open and fix this? Help!!

The door handle on the inside won't work either because the cables are crossed. The electronics aren't causing the problem, it's the door cables on the inside that are connected to the lock backwards. Unfortunately I can't take the door panels off now because the door is closed, so I don't really know how to access the door cables. Hopefully this is something the dealer can quickly fix.

Note to self, don't try to replace speakers at 11pm!

    Thanks

Sorry for your misfortune OP; I can definitely relate as this is something I would do ... LOL.

OP, maybe someone has a parts diagram of the door. I thought the OUTSIDE handle was directly linked to the door latch and the inside was a cable. Normally if the outside one doesn't work you could try and unlock it with a key. The other option may be to call a locksmith with a "slimjim" type of device to slide down the door to grasp the lock mechanism.

Good luck and keep us posted .... as I may need to know what to do someday!

If the cables are switched try pulling on the inside handle to unlock and while holding it try to open with the outside handle.

If the cables are reversed shouldn't the lock switch open the door and the door handle lock/unlock the door? Unless the lock switch doesn't have enough movement to open the door.

Got it fixed, just had to use the power door locks and pull up on the handle. Phew!
