On the door jam switch, I just took the 10mm bolt out and disconected the plug behind it. The dome light wont come on when you open the door, BUT...If you have keyless entry, when you hit the unlock button the dome light will come on for a few seconds. This makes me happy! :)
Plus, if you move the female end of the plug over to the side, you can bolt the switch back in place and the female end will be hanging over the edge of the hole so you can re-connect it later if you want. I actually filled the edges of the hole smooth just for good measure.

Nice job, but why? so you can have the door open with the keys in the ignition and not have it beep at you?

So I can listen to cool jams with the drivers door open while I'm doing..whatever. Otherwise when you have the keys in the ignition on Accesory the chime goes off the whole time.

Well, I listen to rock, and the radio station around here plays alot of live sports crap, so this mod helps me out a bunch.

Why don't you just roll down the window or close the drivers door and open the others. The beeper seems to save me quite a bit. I will be sitting there checking texts after I park and sometimes forget about the keys.
