I’ve replaced my driver’s side door handle once when some stellar human punched my lock cylinder and I learned how to replace that, as well as lubricate the linkage that’s back there. That was 2016.

Today I wanted to remediate some very poorly opening doors due to cracked handles on both sides as well as grimey linkages.

I used a two part epoxy from work called Devcon. Cures rock solid but it mixes as a workable paste. Very useful stuff. I applied it around the cracks and inside all corners to reinforce them with more material. Cleaned both handles and applied fresh grease. Maybe too much, dunno. Sprayed some silicone grease on the inner linkage and also hand applied grease to pivot points I could reach.

Both doors open like new again. Massive quality of life improvement.

I can sell this Devcon to anyone that might need a high quality two part epoxy.
It’s meant for hot tubs and chlorinated water exposure 24/7 so it’s robust stuff. I was able to apply it enough but also make it not visible unless I happen to be looking up at my door handle from below grade - unlikely.

I forget the specs of the size. I’ve been using these kits for several years. Part of the dispensing kits became unavailable so we received a new permanent dispensing gun. However for the longest time it loaded into a standard caulking gun. Gives off heat as it cures.

I only did this because I was being too lazy to search for and source new door handles for probably $100 each..? This fix was nearly free aside from my time, which would have been spent installing new handles anyways. If your handles are in a state of disrepair just mend them.

For OEM yes, but aftermarket handles will do just fine and a person can afford to swap them, they are going on Fleabay for $7 - $!5.
