    Soooooo...

My drivers door lock actuator wasn't working properly, so I did the natural thing any guy would do... save money and DIY.

Long story short I took the actuator out, opened it up, replaced just the motor, and put it back in the truck. Everything worked fine, until I closed the door. I realized then that I must have put something back together wrong and now the door latch is stuck in the locked position and nothing I do opens it.

So my question is... How will I open the door when the latch is stuck locked and the mechanism that operates it is not put together properly? is there a fail safe? slim jims and access through the inside don't seem to work because, again, the mechanism itself isn't put together properly. So any attempt to turn the key in the door or depress the rod lever to open the latch wont work. Please help this cheap bastard...

I have an 08 too and just did the exact same thing today, the day after I bought the truck! I am thinking to drill the mechanism out, hoping it will release.

Please let me know if you found a solution asap! Much thanks.
