My truck is doing this weird thing where you hit the unlock button and the lock will only come up half way, then the door won’t open. It’s stuck and not able to move it up manually. If I re-lock, and unlock again still fails. I have to unroll the window and pull up the outside handle to open the door.

It’s very intermittent , when it happens it’s frustrating. I took the door panel of and sprayed wd40 on the linkages underneath the door lock actuator, but could really tell where to spray. It didn’t fix it.

Hoping to fix it asap as it feels like a safety issue not being able to exit the truck quickly

I'm having this issue as well been having it for years, but I'm coping. It's only on my passenger side. a way I avoid the issue is not trying to open the door from the inside while the door is locked. I always press the unlock button before trying to open the doors.

My driver side does have an issue that may be related, but I'm not sure how the stock linkages are supposed to look. The similar issue is my driver door won't manually lock with the key from the outside, but my passenger door will lock with a key turn from the outside. Wanna compare doors?

    Edit: added some context/clarifying stuff

The plastic worm gear inside the door lock actuator is cracked. Eventually it won't work at all. 3 solutions:
    1. New actuator assembly
    2. Retrofit a universal actuator (the way I went 6 years ago and surprisingly they still work)
    3. Try and source a new worm gear (or 3D print one!) and fix it

I have seen on some 1st gens that there is a guide clip on the door that the interior door pull rod sits in. It keeps that rod in place and allows all of the unlock motion to go where it is supposed to.

Nope, just some proper positioning and self tapping screws iirc
