The electronic lock on the drivers door of my 2001 Tacoma will not lock. It unlocks correctly but when I try to lock it with the switch I get a harsh buzzing noise.
Has anyone had this problem? What did you have to do to get everything back in working order.
How much of a problem is it going to be to replace the solenoid if that's what is causing the problem?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    TIA
    Jerry

    She's gone but not forgotten.
    Hey Jerry

I'd pull the door panel and first take a toothbrush after every moving part in there. Then lube it all up with silicon spray. See if that don't fix it before you go spending money on replacement parts.

its kinda nerve racking taking apart the door for the first time. Just take your time and look at everything you do. Will have no problems.
