door lock

Ok I'm having issues with my power locks on my 1998 when you hit the button it locks then instantly unlocks itself anybody had this problem??? Maybe bad motor???

 

If the key is in the 'On' position (engine doesn't need to be running) and this happens, check to make sure the door ajar sensor is working (i.e. it closes the circuit). What you described is a safety feature to prevent yourself from locking yourself out of your car.

Other users might have more troubleshooting stuff if this is not the case.

 

yep, its a built in anti "lock your keys in the truck" feature

 

Does anyone know where to get a replacement motor? I tried calling the dealership but they wanted to charge me $400 for the whole door assembly when I just need a new actuator.

Door doesnt look anymore, just hear grinding gears
