Hey y'all. Looking for some help. I have a 2010 Tacoma and having some problems with my door locks. I have to constantly hit my lock button inside my truck to get my drivers side door to lock. Eventually after hitting the button 10 or so times it'll finally lock. When I hit it sometimes it'll act like it wants to lock and go about half way then go back to the unlocked position. Was wondering if it was the motor or what. Also the key fob no longer works. It's been out for about a year or so. I changed the batteries in it and it still won't work. The locking issue with the buttons have been going on for a few months. Thanks for the help everyone!

Possibly the contacts in the switch?

Not sure if there's a way to do it without removing the switch from the door panel. If you remove it you can use a continuity tester on the contacts and then push the button. No current = switch is bad.

For your door lock, my money is on an actuator that is going bad. Thats the thing that actually pushes the lock. You could remove it and try to grease and free it up some, but they not hard to change and aftermarket part should not be too expensive.

I found another post on TW

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/bad-door-lock-actuators.198658/

that referenced this post on another forum for RAV4's where the guy was able to free the actuator

    http://www.rav4world.com/forums/96-...actuator-repair-fix-your-door-locks-free.html

    may help...

As far as the remote, it sounds like it just died. You have a spare to try to see if it works?
