Anyone ever had a problem with the driver side door locking itself when opening from the outside? Mine started doing it yesterday and I don't really wanna tear into it yet unless it's a quick fix.

It stuck a little but not too bad. Now it kinda randomly locks itself half way through the opening process. I'd say 2/3 of the time

Hmmm, I havent had any problems, but on my dads ford it gets stuck. I dont think it would be too hard to tear the door apart, I think you just have to take the door panel off.

No waranty. It's a 99 goin on 130k I know it would be easy but I've been pressed for time lately between work and school. I think I get Thursday morning off but I gotta pull a coilover to make a template for my friend for some aluminum spacers. I think I'll have time to do it then.

My Tacoma is 2002, it also will lock the drivers door when it feels like it. Some times ;most of the time when I get out. As for the fix. I just make sure the keys are in my pocket or roll down the window when I stop at the mailbox. I just have not taken it upon myself to take the door apart.

Just pulled the door pannel off and sprayed the mechanism down with carb/brake cleaner waited for it to dry and shot some penatrating lube in there and she works like a champ.
