So I went to the dealer that I bought the truck from, I had an oil change, I asked them to do the transmission TSB that fixes the stumble at high altitudes, and then they refused to warranty the water leak from my 3rd brake light saying it is damaged "due to outside influence". I left the dealer and parked the truck over the weekend. I had to go to another Toyota dealer farther from me who was very accommodating, they confirmed the leak issue and replaced the 3rd brake light.

Right before I dropped off the truck, my door locks were not working. I thought it was just my remote that was low on battery but then it doesn't even work using the buttons from the inside when the truck was on. So I dropped my truck off with that new issue.

The next day they found out that a fuse was blown and now the door locks are working but now the windows at the back won't roll down using the driver side controller, they replaced the controller and attempted to troubleshoot.

8 days later, they found out that it was just another fuse that they missed. Now the windows roll down and the doors lock and unlock with the key fob. I went home and drove my truck every day.

It's the 7th day now and I finally decided to wash my truck. Everything was fine until I got home and now the door locks won't work again. I am assuming its the same fuse that blew. Going back to the dealer again tomorrow.

Anybody else have the same experience? It's a little thing but still an inconvenience.

    Your truck is completely stock?

Who was the douche dealer that refused the brake light leak?

I have a full sound system setup and a dash cam that is hard wired with a switch, that was installed professionally and that was since July 2017, no issues since then. It was Kearny Mesa toyota in San Diego. They also broke my window visor while it was being serviced because of one of their lock boxes. Not even an apology, they just told me to buy a new one and give them the receipt. Its been 2 weeks and the manager still needs to get back at me tomorrow for the refund since he doesn't know what is going on with it. Regret buying from them now.

Well, if you didn’t introduce anything new, then my only suggestion would be getting out a good flashlight and looking carefully at all of the wires. Maybe some insulation wore through, came off, etc.

yes. But my truck is reaching 36 months in just 3 weeks, so while its under warranty, I will let them figure it out. Another forum suggested that there has been issues like this and it is usually due to a frayed wire on the B pillar, I will drop it off the dealer and tell them that since my truck was with them for over a week only to dismiss is with a blown fuse without knowing the cause. I was just sharing it here incase somebody encountered the same issue.

The electrical system does seem finicky. However most issues reported here seem to be after new installs of lights, winches, etc. Sounds different in your case.

Do you know which fuse they replaced? I blew a fuse installing an auto dim mirror. Replaced it, but the fob doesn't work now. Hate to test every single fuse to find the culprit. Anyone know? 2016 Tacoma.

My door lock fuse is blowing randomly. Been through about 3-4 fuses in 6 months. Initially thought moisture, but trucks been dry for a couple weeks and it happened. Not mods to electrical.

Symptoms once fuse blows, cannot unlock the doors with remote.

Can someone point me to where the door lock harness might run.. or where 2016 wiring harness diagram is available.

The door lock harness and controller run down from the door locks to the kick panel and up to the ECU management controller behind the left side of the steering wheel (dashboard). It also is connected to the connection in the A pillar (as your sitting behind wheel the pillar on your left).
We found out that the fuse that controls the locks are the 10 amp fuses in the engine bay. (Specifically the three closest to the fender). Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information. Mine is a yellow 20 amp fuse in the fuse block under dash driver side/above kick panel labeled "D/L". in my 2016 TRD OR.

I remember buying a specific electronics warranty because I knew I was buying the first of the 3rd generation trucks to cover computers and such in the vehicle. I will see if this covers the locks. Otherwise, I'm on my own :)
