Has anyone seen this before? No idea how it happened but only think I can think of is my GF had her leg against it on our last trip, but all she had on was lotion. Is this part replaceable? Hoping not to replace the whole panel. If not I’ll just vinyl it.

Have you tried washing it? Looks like alot of that stuff is left over from the GF's leg?

You could try a junk yard for a door panel and trim pieces. Or get the KY ready for a trip to the dealership.

Out of curiosity - was it suntan lotion that did this? Or something else? If it was suntan lotion, what kind was it?

Wipe it with 303 and continue on with your life. The money that you saved, go buy a nice little present for the gf.

Looks like sweat residue or something, my handles get like that if I don't clean them for a long time, inside chrome ones.

Probably caused by a mixture of heat, sweat, oils (body oils or moisturizers) since the plastic below the trim was also contaminated. If I can recall correctly, the trim piece in particular was around $20-30 USD. I'll come back with a part number if I can find one.

(UPDATE) I did some more research and apparently that trim piece in particular is actually apart of the passenger side trim panel. The OEM color for the interior is Magnetic Gray Metallic so this part number should work: 7420104030C1

Clicking on the part number will send you directly to the source

Man she kinda corrosive or something? Kidding. If that's after you have cleaned it then it must of been something she had on. I've never seen that before. Let us know what it was if you find out. I'd like to keep that stuff off my wife's legs.

Yes this after I cleaned it. Whatever it was ate the finish of the trim. I’ll do some more digging on what she had on! Thanks for all the help! I’m going to just replace the trim piece

My trim piece has the exact same issue, it is beginning to happen on the driver's side too.

I do remember seeing that on here before, someone had sunscreen on and it turned the door panel green, lol.

Here is the culprit. Has petroleum as an ingredient.

Man, is that part of the door panel that low in the 3rd gen? That’s would drive me crazy. That’s some damn strong moisturizer. Eeeh!

I think the "calming scent" did it. In SC right now, she was also sweaty.
