Looking for some input from folks familiar or knowledgeable with automotive paint and panels. I dented my passenger door and I'm looking to replace it or possibly get it fixed through a body shop. My truck is a black '18 pro (218 color code) and I found a door on ebay from a 19 SR5 (also 218 color code). I realize the door harness & connectors are different given mine has passenger auto up/down window and bsm, no issues here with performing the swap.

However I wanted to see what your guys' thoughts are on the paint matching between the two doors. From my research black seems to be one of the least noticeable colors to spot slight tone differences but the last thing I want is for the replacement door to stand way out from the rest of the truck, it's only a year newer but probably a lot better taken care of lol. My trucks also got a lot of scratches so after I either replace the door or take it in to just get fixed through a body shop my plan is then to take the truck in for paint correction.

Would the paint correction help at all match the door if it's slightly off? Opinions on replacing the door vs a body shop? Any experiences with swapping door/body panels?

Paint correction won't help with color match. You're only correcting the clear coat

Thanks for the input, makes sense. I just found a body shop to fix her up at a pretty reasonable cost.
