    hi all,

Anyone have an explanation for what modification would reduce the towing capacity by 5lbs?

I also hit submit on this before i intended so the title doesn't really help haha.

Anyway, appreciate any insights, ideas, explanations, bs, etc you all have - not a big deal but I just noticed it and was wondering what was up with it.

Has to do with US safety laws and what modifications the dealer may have added to the truck after Toyota made delivery. Could be anything from floor mats to tube steps, etc. I may be wrong though, but I remember reading that was the deal with the sticker.

That response works for me - thanks mike.

I bought the taco used last December, so it may have had tube steps or some other mod in the past.

Might be due to the factory wheel and tire options the truck was ordered/delivered with as well.

Mine has the same sticker. It is due to the sliding rear window, door sill protectors, and carpeted floor mats, which were required options.

Work Tacoma has that sticker base regular cab 4x4 not modified in any way its a 2014. My Tacoma dose not have this sticker V6 SR5 4x4 with tow package. I'm wondering is this sticker only found on trucks without the tow package?
