    Lotsa shit.
Door on my 2nd gen got stuck, it was because the strut broke and binded up, you can imagine it was a good time, but good luck with the fix

I couldn't believe it was caused by a tiny spring and expected something else.

Maybe I will give it's own thread and ask if it should be stickied?

Well after ~4hrs work and 1hr at the local U-pull-it. I studied the part that was pulled and found how the latch works and the sequence that everything should be in. after cutting away for access and a better view, this is what was found. here is the cut panel, the window tract had two "wings" on the side that needed to be cut off. (see photo) After cutting the metal away i was able to see my issues. the lock linkage had become disconnected due to wear of a plastic bushing, once this became detached the latch was never moved in the proper position to release the claw from the latch bolt. (see photo)There was a little tab that need to be pushed down that was behind the exterior handle rod, but i couldnt reach it. Thanks to my 10yr son and his skinny little arm he was able to put the tab into position and door opened. The part i pulled was from a 95 tacoma with electric locks, the harness on the latch side fit, but the wire sequence was not matching the old one removed. The door is operating great and smoother than ever, but the locks need to be operated manually, until it warms up here in NM then i will correct it.
    Thanks for all the feedback.

To nmgman Dave: I'm in ABQ between UNM and CNM with the same problem. Maybe you can help. I have the front seats and the console out, switches out, and door panel @#!&! as much as I can - not far. I also have the passenger side panel off for comparison. For now I'm stuck and the truck is stuck. I joined the forum for this problem and I have no idea how I got stuck in an Italic font. How can we get in touch? Thanks, Tuck.
