Rub Deet all over the rest of it to even it up. :anonymous:

I noticed I’ve worn that part down as well since I drive with my knee resting there

Forget the door, I’d be worried about what that stuff can do to your body

Be sure you keep an eye out for similar things happening from sunscreen. I'm usually pretty careful but I hurt myself mountain biking and was leaning on the open back door and ended up with some discoloration from the sweat mixed with sunscreen. I was able to minimize with some water and light scrubbing but didn't take care of it all.

Don't get it on your exterior paint, either. Had a buddy of mine lean up against the side of his new Silverado while we were chatting after trimming some hunting trails (we were soaked in Deep Woods OFF) and it actually bubbled a huge portion of clear coat. He had to get the whole bedside repainted.

Do you swim in DEET . I would think you could find the whole part or put a sticker over it. You are going to get little scratches on the black plastic in that area anyways.

Had a number of people over for a 4th of July gathering. Many of them used the DEET while gathered around the firepit. Killed my grass...large areas...where ever they sprayed it

I am glad I learned that DEET can double as a paint stripper. I use it all the time on my clothes when entering tick heaven. I will be care full now.

    This ^

I have more problems with sunscreen screwing up my seats and dash than anything else. It’s a pain in the ass. It sucks to have to choose between preventing skin cancer and my anal retentive drive to maintain my interior in pristine condition.

BTW, on a serious note, I spilled Deet all over my fly plastic boxes once and it literally ate through them.

It will also eat through a lot of technical fabrics. I am sure to apply and rub in and then put on anything that I think might dissolve.

Ahhh good old DEET. Makes you wonder what it does to your skin. But it keep the blood suckers away.

We use deep woods bug spray to clean headlights in my shop. Does a damn good job!

Forget repainting it. Just put a sticker over it.

When I was in the Army, I had so much bug juice on me to fend off the Fort Lewis mosquitoes that it melted the pens in my pocket. Bad stuff.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Paint or cover it with vinyl trim wrap

    Hell yeah it does!

It also will eat through your watch bands. Back in the navy in SC during SF training I lost a band due to deet, but at least I didn't get eat up.
