Door unlocks after locking

Hello everyone,

I feel like there would be a simple fix for this so I feel dumb asking. When I try to lock my Tacoma with the fob and the finger sensor on the door handle it locks and beeps once per normal. Then immediately after it unlocks with a single beep. Unlocking normally gives off two beeps. I tried locking from a distance and it still unlocks.

I look inside and see door ajar on the dash while the driver door is open. Then I close the door and the ajar message goes away. I tried just pushing the sensor in while the door is open and the message goes away so it looks like the sensor is working for the driver door. Only the driver door unlocks. I tried opening and closing all doors and the problem persists. I'm not sure what else to check. Any help would be appreciated.

Where's your spare fob?

 

Door ajar should be a long solid beep. Maybe another fob inside vehicle.

 

The spare key is accounted for and not in the vehicle.

Also usually fob inside the vehicle is also a long solid beep.

 

Change battery.

 

Did this just start happening and how long have you had the truck?
Also, have you done any recent mods prior to this issue?

 

Should I change the fob battery? Car battery?

I have had the truck 6 months and this started today. I have had an amp and speakers installed a couple weeks ago.

 

You do have possession of the 2nd fob right? I mean you sure you don't have somebody fucking with you looking out the window right?

 

The spare key fob is currently back home at my parent's house. I called to confirm to get eyes on it. I will be able to get my own eyes on them tomorrow night.

 

Change fob battery. If that does not work, take back to stereo installer.

Half update:

this morning before work the issue is no longer there. Will see if the issue comes back. Will still change battery when I can. I will also edit this post with a very poor video I took last night when I was having the issue.
