door won't stay locked

    In October, we bought an 08 Taco regular cap, 4 cyl for my son to drive around. Not a lot of power, not 4wd, no rear seating. I thought it would be nice for a new driver. And, so far, he (and I) like it.

    The passenger door will lock. However, he recently noticed that all you have to do is wiggle the door handle 3 or 4 times and the door will open. That is, go through the motion of attempting to open the door and after about 4 tries, it will open even though it was locked.

    Whats up with that?!?!?!

    Anybody have any ideas? By the way, I'm in IT...not a mechanic. :confused:
