DoorDash Confidential with Charlie (another PennSilverTaco thread)!

The strange thing here is that there are five open Saladworks locations with Philly addresses; I have no idea why they were ordering from Warminster...

 

I didn't even realize it at the time, but this is two separate orders. The first one was another Saladworks order going into Cheltenham, and the second one was going from an unknown restaurant to Ambler...

 

If you live in Upper Bucks and have a craving for sushi, please order from a sushi place in your area! Aji Sushi is in Warrington, and Souderton is the shithole between Hatfield and Quakertown where I got pulled over on Thanksgiving Ever last year for the egregious crime of having Christmas lights on my truck, just to give you an idea of how far it is...

 

"Trip Radar" is different from an actual order. The same order actually came in for five cents less a few seconds later...

 

Same order as above, now for a full dollar more...

Looking at it closer, the Saladworks order is the same, but the second order is actually different...?

 

This one wasn't particularly far, but the pay still sucked, so I didn't take it...

 

We also have a toddler and a dog!

 

If I had a toddler, 2x 6 moths old, and a dog.
I'd probably be looking for a wife........

So, that pay averages $12 an hour.
Subtract fuel and wear and tear, and it doesn't seem worth it to me.
Maybe I expect too much? But I'm not tearing my truck up for $12.

 

Like I said, I didn't take it...

 

From last night; I was not about to turn around and drive back in the opposite direction for less than $1 per mile...

 

As you can see, I was about halfway between the restaurant and the customer when this order came in; I was not about turn around then go double the distance...

 

So I'm gonna drive to the Bonefish Grill in Montgomeryville, then drive the order all the way to Buckingham Township, for less than nine bucks...? Note that I was not quite halfway between the restaurant and the customer, but still a good distance away, and it was almost 18 miles of driving...

 

Both DoorDash and Uber Eats really need to set a limit on how many miles from their location that people can order, like five or six miles.

If the restaurant is more than seven miles from where they are, tough shit! This would no doubt cut down on morons from Philly ordering from fast food places in the suburbs!

If you live in New Hope and your favorite restaurant is in New Hope, or vice versa, then tough shit!

 

It'd be one thing if someone's willing to do it and unassigning doesn't get held against you I guess..

 

I'm sure they do. Every time I want to order from a good restaurant in my area that only has one location, I'm "outside the delivery zone".

 

Doesn't do that in my area. The gray area is the presently inactive Doylestown "zone"; I've had to deliver in the outside the "zone" in the red circled area...

And then note how busy it is in Philly right now; I refuse to go into Philly anymore, and I have a feeling that other Dashers are the same way, hence why it's so damn busy...
