The fastest route from Doylestown to New Hope is roughly 11 miles and takes more than 20 minutes. There is a glorified tourist trap called Peddler's Village located about halfway between both places, and on weekends, traffic often tends to be a nightmare. The parking situation in New Hope is a shitshow as well. Because New Hope caters more to our-of-town tourists, there is no free parking. I've lived very close to Doylestown for almost twenty years, and not only do I know where all of the free parking is, I have a friend in town who lets me park in her driveway when public parking isn't available.

The area circled in dark red is far more rural and spread than Central Bucks, so the customers are farther from the restaurants, and they still tip like shit; I have deemed the zones of "Sellersville" (Upper Bucks) and "Green Lane" (Upper Montgomery County) to be largely unprofitable. Sometimes, I'll be Dashing in "Doylestown" or "Fort Washington/Horsham", and I'll get a request to bring an order from Chalfont to Hatfield or even Quakertown; Quakertown as a whole is not bad, but it's impossible to not get requests that are going further North or back down South...

    @Cpl. Punishment

I have been decorating my truck with Christmas lights on and off since 2011, and every year since 2019. Until 2023, I could proudly say that I'd never been pulled over; I drove through Souderton (circled in red) on Thanksgiving Eve last year, and got pulled over for the very first time. I did not get a ticket and the cop was very nice, but he went well above the speed limit to catch up with me (I was doing the speed limit and waiting for a red light to turn green when I saw him hauling ass down the hill, his lights ablaze).

Even though I didn't get a ticket, Souderton has earned a reputation in my mind as the "Hazzard County" of Bucks County. On top of that, the place is kind of a shithole. Why should I do business in a place that will pull me over just for having a little fun when I'm literally not breaking any other laws?!?!

That village place was where you were going for Christmas Lights right?

I only did DoorDash for the last two months of 2023, and I was shocked my how low mileage estimates were; less than 1,900 miles!

Looks like about 1,000 miles a month.
Divide that by the avg. MPG, and see what you spent in fuel.

But when you think about it, a thousand miles a month is average or even possibly below average...

Yeah, just giving you an idea of how you can see the true wages of DoorDash.
I don't know what you make, but subtract the fuel cost from earned income, and see if it's worth it.

@Stitchgirl90 is looking for a larger fridge than the one she has, and she came across the same fridge that was originally free, but which the guy tried to charge me $20 when I told him the compressor was worth money at the scrapyard. He seemed absolutely convinced that he could sell the damn thing for parts, but now it is free once again. You guys called it!

Send him a message and tell him you'll haul it off for him for a $20 fee. :D

I'm not going to antagonize him. However, he doesn't know what I drive. He lives around the corner from my girlfriend, and I'm pondering sending her to pick it up...

    I wouldn't, but that's me.
    I'm not you.

I don't scrap, and I don't see that being worth my time.

    Plus, I wouldn't send a woman to do my (a man's) job.

    So......No. Don't do it.

Most of the time, I log into Uber Eats just so I screenshot the shitty offers that come in...

This was the first of several such offers that came in on Friday afternoon and apparently, people can now order an Apple product and have it delivered to their house? Talk about lazy! Two orders, going almost 15 miles total, for $7.50?!?!:luvya:
