    There is a private high school in New Hope, PA called the Solebury School; I am NEVER taking a DD order there again!

    @Stitchgirl90 was in the truck with me at the time, and agrees that the guy who I encountered was an asshole!

    I've been there three times in the last week (two last night). Every time I go the GPS takes me in a different entrance. The first two orders had explicit instructions to leave the food on a bench outside a red building called the Red Barn Theater. No problem.

    With the second one that I got last night, the GPS took me to a dorm building (this place is also apparently a boarding school). There were no insurrections in the order telling me to drop off the order at the theater building; I finally figured that this order must be going there as well, after driving into a dead end parking lot outside the dorm building.

    As I was driving out of the parking, a huge middle-aged man in a safety vest starts approaching my truck. He was a decent distance away, and there were a lot of people in the parking lot, plus it was obviously dark; I was riding the brake pedal as I rolled towards him. Initially, I thought he might be my customer, and he seemed to be getting more and more agitated that I wasn't flooring it to get closer to him...

    I finally pulled up next to him, and in a rather accusatory tone he asks what I'm doing; I said "DoorDash" and gave him the name of the person who ordered the food...

    He said that all DoorDash orders are to go on the bench outside that red barn building; I tried to tell him that nowhere in the order did it say to leave the food there, and even show him my phone with the address on it. He proceeded to push my phone away and say he didn't need to see that.

    The whole time, this guy was very condescending and talked down to me like I was an idiot, and acted as though I'm supposed to that all orders to that school go to the same place. I delivered the food to the customer without incident, but I was still incensed at how this guy treated me, so I purposely peeled out of the parking lot, and I'm pretty sure I left a black rubber streak on the pavement...

    :burnrubber::brianr:

    I mentioned this encounter to my teenage customer; I thought this prick was a security guard, but based on my description, the customer believed he was a teacher...?

    If this encounter had been just about anywhere but a school campus, and that guy hadn't obviously been a school employee, he would have gotten a face full of pepper spray...

    6832 Philips Mill Road
    New Hope, PA 18938

    This place is forever on my shitlist, and I will be double checking any orders going to New Hope for that address; I will unassign the order going to that damned school!

    I got laid off from NAVMAR right before I applied for a second job at Home Depot. I need to make money somehow while I'm waiting for my paperwork at Home Depot to be processed, so I don't have to dip into my savings, 401(k), investments, etc...

    DoorDash has actually been very good so far with the exception of the aforementioned dickhead at the boarding school last night.

    The Home Depot and Lowe's here are always adverting that they need help.
    You'd think they'd be faster about processing the paper work.

    I literally offered a plumbing job in Lowe's 2 days ago.
    I was picking up some stuff to help my father with on his kitchen sink.
    I struck up a conversation with a guy there buying plumbing stuff.
    He said, "you seem like you know what you're doing/ You want a job working with me?"
    I had to decline. I hate plumbing. I've crawled under enough house and and drug out enough old pipe, I've done all I want.

    The ability to turn in the foglights and high-beams simultaneously comes in very handy when the customer forgets to turn on their front porch light!

    Last night, I encountered yet another house where someone forgot to turn in the lights, though time while doing Uber Eats instead of DoorDash; I send the customer a message along the lines of "Is it the house with the black Mercedes in the driveway and no lights on?" I had the foglights and high-beams on, and the driveway was positioned so I could light a path for myself, but I'm not always able to do this. As I was dropping off the food at the front door, I heard a woman inside the house screaming at someone else about forgetting to leave the light on. The porch light came on when I came as I was walking back to the truck...

    This one of the things that annoys me about doing both DoorDash and Uber Eats in the Montgomeryville/North Wales area; I didn't realize it was going to Philly, and ended having to go to great lengths to get it unassigned. The good news is that I still got paid $5.55 for driving to Shake Shack and waiting for the order!

    Go figure, after the order was cancelled by Uber Eats, the same moron tried to order from the same Shake Shack and I immediately turned it down. It was the same price as before, but the joke is on the customer because Shake Shack has at least one location in Philly... o_O

    I refuse to go into Philly!

    4 "items", but I see your point. It was probably some stoner who was too high to realize that he was ordering from a Shake Shack in the suburbs rather than in the city...

    @TnShooter

    Let's not forget this guy; I took the order, not realizing it was going to Jersey, and to have it forcibly cancelled by Dasher support. My friend Doug also drives DoorDash, and he initially accepted the same order before realizing it was going to Jersey and cancelling it!

    No, that is my 17 year old niece in the cut up jeans. The weather in the mountains was rather warm this past week.

    You know what my wife looks like goofball.

    Not so much here at the house. 7* now.

    My daughter is in the gray work out pants.
