Doors autmagically re-lock on my 2010 TRD Taco?

I don't know if this is a stock feature or if the previous owner made some sort of mod to the stock system. When I unlock the doors with the key fob, if I don't open a door within a minute or so (no, I haven't timed it), the doors will automatically lock again.

Is this stock? Can this be changed?

    Thanks,
    -PH

Yep, it's stock. My 2005 did it along with my 2013 and the wife's 4runner.

I never really noticed it until I installed my pop n lock. Now whenever I need to get into my truck bed (tonneau covered) I double click the fob and jump in back. After about 30 seconds I hear the pop n lock re-engage.

I just checked my 2013 standard and it does not relock the doors. To be honest I would not want it to relock the doors once I unlocked them.
    Correction below.

Yea, it's a safety thing. Like if you accidentally click the button when you're walking away from the truck it will lock it if you don't open a door. My 99 4runner does this but my Tacoma does not, probably because the Taco is a base model without electronic locks LOL :smack:

Alright I tried it again waiting a little longer and sadly it does relock the doors. I am glad this has been brought to my attention, but it is not something I like.

Not really a big deal, just irritating the couple of times it's relocked on me. Usually happens when you hit the button, then fill you hands with stuff to put in the truck, get to the truck door to hook a finger under the handle to open the door...and BAM...shuffle stuff to dig out key fob, yada yada yada. Not a big deal in the larger scheme of life.

If I unlock my doors I expect them to stay that way, not relock by themselves in 30 to 60 seconds. The claim that it is for security does not fly with me. I have no problem if it is a programmable feature, but not one pre-set and can't be changed.

Seems like a minor thing seeing how presumably you are going to be walking to your truck when you hit the FOB to unlock them #firstworldproblems
