4xinnovations.com sells quick disconnect hinges for your model truck. If you plan to take them on and off regularly it's well worth the investment to put them on. They also make some nice looking tube doors as well.....

thats cool! I live in socal, but I'm pretty sure its either illegal somehow to not have doors on or something...

other problem is if I parked my car anywhere along the beach with no doors on I'm pretty sure my interior would be stripped by the time I got back!

your stoked though! can you drive right on to the beach?

prollythe only illegal thing would be no mirrors. so buy the tube doors and whip out the duct tape!!!!

I would say the best thing to do is go to where all the wires run trhough and cut them in half. then solder connectors to them so you just have to unplug them then replug them. just make sure you have a solid solder connection.

As for legality, here in Va i think you need atleast 6 inches of material from the floor up. thats why Jeeps have that really awkward piece of metal you have to step over when you get in.

For mirrors, maybe just vice grip it on? haha idk what to do there

i have done this before haha. go buy some 5/16 quick release pins i believe it is? Remove door and hinges and cut the wires in the middle. cut out the pin that holds the original hinges together and replace with the quick release pin....add on water proof connectors (like butt connectors or spade) to the wires BAM!!!!! take your doors off in a couple minutes.

I had a wrangler and loved running no doors thought about trying to take them off the 2gen but i have a feeling they would be way heavier than wrangler doors and much more of a pain in the ass

yeah i would just do the connector thing, but doors are a pain in the ass to put back on cause i did this on my old jacked up cherokee (yeah i know i was a jeep guy). as for the mirrors i would look into making or buying some kind of adaptor the goes on the door hinge so you can attach a mirror.

yup i went to lowes got some 5/16 lock pins but didnt cut the wires just unplug them from inside the truck and push threw the door jam. it was really easy to do and its easy to take em off and put back on. the doors are kinda heavy but its all good.
