I have a three year old. I used to have a Cherokee, and he has more room in the back in the double cab. Plus, I think he loves my Tacoma more than me! I definitely suggest a DC if you have kids!

I came from an extended cab Dakota and I absolutely love my double cab. No more moving seats, having the brats (oops I mean kids) climb all over my truck, etc. Plus they are further away from me so I can't hear them as much!:rimshot:

When they get bigger, if you're tall, their feet will be up against the seat back(s). I wish there were 4 more inches back there, like the tundra. Other than that, mine love it.

so far it's awesome! i have a 5 1/2 yr old daughter & 2 1/2 yr old son - they like daddys truck sooo much better than mommy's mini van! My main reason for getting a double cab was so I could drive the kids...:D

I came from a F350 Diesel Crewcab with 2 kids down to a Tacoma....and was in shock at how little the double cab was. That lasted about a week. You adjust, make it work and really, I was in a Tacoma! It's all relative I guess!

No issues here. My daughter loves it. She says everytime lets take the BIG TRUCK. Trying to get her to say take the Taco. But no luck yet.

Working out perfect.............now have room for my 8 year old son and our dog. Fold the wider section of the back seat down and put a pad down for the lab and my son sits in the other section...............long overdue..................

Definitely works for my six y.o. and friends. Just need side steps rails. And the plastic back on the passenger side is great in case the kid wants to kick the seat!

I considered that when I bought mine, I was dating a girl with a kid at the time and am glad I went that route. Besides, it too handy to throw stuff in teh back I dont want pther people to see. Now its just me and the lacey (my K9) but I dont think I could ever go with an access or regular cab.

We have a Honda Odyssey and a CRV, I got an 11, a 9 and new born. They fit nicely at the back with the car seat at the middle. My kids said that the ride is not a smooth as the van but they like the ttruck so much. They said its more manly.:D

I've done so many mods to this truck it turned out to be a Dodge Ram 2500! WOW was that expensive!!
I have 3 kids. A 7yr. old boy, 11yr. old boy (@5'-4") and a 2yr. old girl w/ car seat. The 11yr. old wines about his knees hitting the back of the passenger seat. I know I will have to upgrade to a Tundra crew cab some day. :(

I've got three kids (12/10/8) that fit comfortably in the double cab.

I put in two 12V power sockets under the center console cup holders for their use and a 6 foot AUX cord. They watch movies on the netbook and listen through the stereo.

Put in some seat back organizers so they have space for their travel gear.

It's worked out well so far. Plenty of space in the bed with a Leer 100XR cap.

We bought the double cab specifically for the kids and gear and backcountry camping in mind. But has also been good for some 5 hour road trips so far.

Wife has sat in back a bit and been comfortable; passenger side with the front seat forward a bit. Both she and I aren't tall, just average and the kids growth charts predict just average height for them too so it should be good for years to come.
