Double cab Long Bed

Now that’s EPIC!!!

 

Question for you double long folks. I'm looking at buying one to replace my 1/2 ton (wife is afraid to drive a 1/2 ton due to the size...well afraid to park it more than drive it). It's a 2014 PreRunner double cab long bed w/155k. I live in snowy/muddy 4WD country. Not many buyers even consider 2WD trucks so it's a bit of a unicorn where I live. It's in pretty nice shape. No body rust to speak of, frame looks good, just normal interior wear on a 10 yr 155k truck. Fella is asking $18,500. Is that asking price reasonable?

 

Assuming it's not beat up with worn interior/exterior that would be at or below market price in my area.

 

I'm in Western Pennsylvania. I see similar 4wd's around the same price. That's why I'm asking if this is reasonable given that it's just a 2WD.

 

In my area that would be crazy cheap for a 4x4. A nice 2012+ 4x4 with 155k in my area is pretty much never under $20k and usually $25k+.

 

Here I see those prices 20-25k prices here too...but they are typically the best ones gobbled up by the dealers that are floating at 100k instead of 150k+.

 

Echo'ing @clenkeit,that's a fair price for a 2WD. I wouldn't say it's a steal, but it's reasonable. I'm in Western NJ (which is like PA light) and the prices are similar here, to the point that when I was in the market I looked elsewhere. I ended up finding a great deal in AZ, even with having it open trailer'ed, it was cheaper than local supply and zero rust.

 

Nice!!!! Now I need to go load the 4k Ultra HD Blueray "Top Gun: Maverick" disc in the player and watch it again for the 20th time!

Got some snow wheeling in this weekend.

 

Sold the 99 access cab, picked up a 2015 dclb.

I got it from Carvana, and turns out it had transmission issues. Luckily that’s covered by their warranty so it’s getting fixed. After that, I’ll put on some new tires. Falken wildpeak at4w unless I’m convinced otherwise.

What are the transmission symptoms? Mileage?

 

90000 or so, and sticking when shifting either up or down (it’s an auto). Lurching at stops too.

It sounds the same as this thread, and the shop is also replacing the transmission at no cost (to me!)
