I am getting ready to order. I am undecided on long or short bed. Can owners with long beds tell me difference to them or anyone. Looking at pics of lifted long bed double cabs looks better I think. Plus get bigger bed for fishing poles and gear. Not lifted I like short bed. How as bout driving between them. Is long bed turning lots worse? Does long bed ride worse or better. What about off road between two.

I was going to buy a Limited until I found out that it does not come in long bed in USA. To me a pick up with only a five foot bed is almost useless.

Long bed looks better. Short beds look like short busses.

DCLB FTMFW! Get a truck you can actually use as a truck.

LB isn't bad to turn or park. You'll get used to it.

How it's going to ride stock is the same. What's going to change that is what lift kit you put on it. Stock rides like a soft car which was weird as hell to me. Took 2 months to get rid of that shit and install a lift.

Who the hell would have a stock truck on TW? Really?

    Oh, and

DCLB. With a short bed, i'd always be wishing I had a long bed. Not the other way around...

A lot of people, especially the sales folk, have said that driving the LB in the city as a daily ride would be a PITA. The SB just wouldn't cut what I normally use my 99 Tacoma for, so I went with the LB.

It took me about an hour or two of driving around staying highly conscious of curbs and other parked vehicles, but now I can honestly say I don't even think about it. Granted it's only been a week or so. Comparing it to the test rides of the SB, I _think_ it actually rides smoother, but I wouldn't guarantee it.

If you need the LB, then don't worry about it and just get it. It really isn't a big deal.

Just make sure it fits in your garage. ;)

I personally think its up to what you wanna do:

Wanna do some awesome off road trails with tight turns and some bad ass whoopdeedoos? Go short bed.

Need to load it up or haul some bikes? Go long bed.

Keep browsing around the web when you have free time. I nearly pulled the trigger on a SB quicksand, because it was the only quicksand sport in the area. The following week I ordered a long bed from my local dealer, would have showed up in Jan. A week later, the truck I wanted showed up at another dealer in Boston, so I bought it. A week later, same truck showed up in Western Mass. Browse around, cars.com is a great resource.

    nothing cool
I'm sure the argument can be made that all Tacomas look better lifted with tires blah blah blah. But, DCLB look amazing lifted with bigger tires. I really don't like the normal stock look of the DCLB.
My truck is factory looking short bed and it works for me. With my dad having a Tacoma and my brother in law having an two Ford F-150 trucks I honesty could get by with a 4Runner.

It was built for land and sea. Currently working on how to attach wings. Stay tuned.
Seriously, I bought a long bed because a short bed won't carry my 15' boat. Scares the hell outta people at intersections though.

You should get what you prefer and what suits your needs but for me it is DCSB all the way. I think the DCLB look awkward, they don't fit in a garage as well and are harder to park in the city. In three years of owning a DCSB not once have I wished I had a LB and yes, I use my Taco as a truck. The SB fits my four wheeler, fits my generator and extra gear when I tow my camper and easily fits the max payload of gravel/stonedust.
