Hello all my 1st post here.

I have a 2001 Double Cab Trd 4wd that I am wanting to manual swap.

I have a complete 1999 Toyota Tacoma 4wd extended cab trd also with only 119xxx miles. (Rusted out frame) that I was wanting to use as a donor if I could.

Is it possible for me to use the engine, transmission and complete wiring harness along with the ECU out of the 99 into my 01?

No. You can probably use the engine and transmission. Wiring harness and ECU will be different. Toyota in all of their infinite wisdom did a different pin out on just about every year Tacoma. The parts truck would also be good for the pedal assy, crossmembers (assuming that they're not rusted), clutch lines, master and slave cylinders.

What if I were to use the 99's (engine/ transmission) wiring harness plus the harness from the dash (also from 99) and swap them into the 01 along with the manual transmission ecu from the 99?

I know that would be a lot more work but then I could carry everything over (clutch cancel switch, rear locker) including the gauge cluster

You could, hypothetically do that. You'll also need to swap the door panels to the older design and swap out the internals. It would be much better IMO to find a harness and ECU for a 2001 V6 Manual. That way, you can maintain the updated door cards/dash design. The other thing I've seen is that folks use the same automatic harness and plug it in to the manual ECU (for the same year truck). I think a wire or two needs to be moved, and you'll want to cap off the un-used transmission plugs.

I think I'm just going to look for a harness for an 01 and 01 ecu that away I pretty much just plug it in and maybe just have to unhook some wires that were auto specific going to the gauge cluster.

    Thanks

Could you post a link to the fitting and line you're talking about for the clutch line please?
