I use mine for chains, tow straps, emergency kit, extra flares, bushcraft equipment, Bug out bag hanging on the seat over the headrest.

Although I do like the plastic removal for rifle storage.

I keep all of my Windex, wax, wash fluid, tire shine; eg. all of my detailing behind the seat on the drivers side, all my rags/towels/terry towels on the passenger along with some other bungee cords. Underneath is my tool bag and drying towels, along with trash bags and paper towels. I'm looking to get a toolbox on the back soon so I can store my hunting stuff safely...

I have the JBL system (new) and lost about half of the behind seat storage (I had with my '05). I still can keep lots of things behind, and under the rear seat... Those are great storage places.

I have tool kits (socket sets), first aid kit, tire plug kit, tire inflator, jumper cables, invertor, extention cord, wind breaker jacket, batteries, zip ties, paper towels and TP!

Hey, I go camping and off roading in Baja... I need to be prepared!

In the rear bed storage compartments I have a tow strap (to pull out the Chevy trucks), bungee cords, more tools.

One of the reasons for getting this truck was the back seat storage. I like hauling a lot of stuff around, and it all fits inside the back seat compartments or the bed compartments. Tow strap, tools, flares, rope, first aid, flashlights, maps, knifes, shovel, repair manual, water bottle, and a bunch of other stuff. I love the space, and fill it up. Gear expands to fill all available storage space.

I'm considering parking a DC at my bus stop. For some reason, even an old gym bag is an invitation to break in just to see what's (not) in it. So I need space to hide my worthless bag with my size 13s, t-shirt, shorts, towel and socks.

The plastic bins under the seats look fairly harmless, but the liners behind the seats seem to really gobble up useable space. Does anybody have photos or a good DIY for removing it? Here's a decent one from another forum: It looks like the only functional item on the rear liner are the rubber bumpers that cushion the seat back as you return it to upright. I imagine that these bumpers can be relocated, if needed.

What did you do after? Did anyone feel the need to add Dynamat and/or some similar-looking carpet?

    I did this

Yanked out the plastic inserts behind the rear seats in order to remove the cast in shelf so that I can fit a tool box back there

Update on my rear seat cubby storage solution

    Started with this

Milled the upper piece , added a 5/16" stainless through bolt to register the axe handle

Milled the lower piece , it needed to be rabbetted to span over the shelf support remnants

I fixed these pieces through the back of the cubby inserts with #8 x 3/4" screws and fender washers

I put the screws where I could cover them back up with the backing insulation so that they wouldn't rattle against the mounting surfaces

    That left me with this

I built a toolbox that would fit the countour of the storage area under the axe

    Lid :

    Case :

    Tool box :

Axe and tool box locations :

Still waiting on Quickfists for the final axe mounts and an ARB Compact Recovery bag that fits to the left of the tool box

    Test fit

    All back together

    Got my Quickfists

Added one Quickfist to my axe set up

Got my ARB Compact recovery bag , fits pretty good

There is an ARB 17500lb snatch strap inside

I always seem to have dogs with me... And I use the storage behind and under seats for dog first aid kits, extra leashes, collars, and odds and ends that I'd otherwise rarely use but when I need them I'd probably forget them! That way in the event I need them I have them. Dang sure not much storage but what I do have I use and it works well.
