Reading your comments it sounds like you want a Tacoma. I feel you will regret the tundra anytime you don't have passengers which will be often.

I sat in both tundra and tacoma double cabs yesterday and yes while the tundra is bigger, I adjusted the seat for my and sat behind myself and I think it's fine. I also drove both and preferred the driving characteristics of the smaller tacoma. Negotiating on a 15 TRD PRO right now. We're about $1400 apart. I went thru TruCar website and got the quote but when I got there the sale guy's manager said he was willing to only go $500 off sticker. I told him no and showed him 2 other competitors willing to be $1200 cheaper and now they are working numbers. Not my sales guy fault he's cool but screw the acting manager for the day. The real boss will be in on Monday and my sales guy is confident we can make it work. Keep ya posted

Put 200K miles on our last Tacoma DC (our 3rd) as my son was growing up, I would ride in the back (6' -190) when he started driving. With a single passenger in the back, we took the double seat down and usually packed our luggage or the dogs there. Worked really well for us and the Tacoma fits in the garage with the trailer hitch mounted. Tundra doesn't fit.

I have 3 kids, 14, 10 and 7 and they love to ride in my Tacoma. I have taken them on 300 mile road trips and they love it, they find it comfortable.

If your not in the construction business or hauling large items, the Tundra is overkill and not practical. Any average or even big adult/kids should fit just fine in a TACOMA. You will always park and gas up the truck, but will you always have passengers? To me it's not worth the trade off. Just my .02

on the Tundra are you talking about the DoubleCab or the CrewMax. the DoubleCab is basically an extended cab but pretty roomy. i sold my Tacoma dblcab for fullsize 4 door, just was not enough room for me. unless you carry 4 fullsize adults will probably work for you. i am 6' so the drivers side seat was pushed back pretty good, not all the way back. three of us, all about 6' drove 1400 miles to Wyoming, sold that truck soon afterwards. seats are so uncomfortable. the Tundra DoubleCab falls right between the CrewMax and the Tacoma, alot more truck for the money.

This,,, and this. You need to decide if the occasional time when you are packing several people on long road trips is worth the added cost of dealing with a large vs. mid-size truck. My Tacoma spends 80% of it's time with just me and 18% of it's time with 3-4 people in it and 2% or less with 4 people and a long road trip (percentages approx :D). IMHO, not worth the full sized truck for those few occasions.

FYI, I've had my Tacoma through 2 sons, one with a full car seat, another with a booster, through to where they arenow 5'8" and 5'6", with my wife and I in the truck with them, works just fine 98% of the time, the other 2%, we adjust and deal with it. We've also been known to just rent a minivan for the occasional long road trip too....(still cheaper then buying and maintaining a full sized vs. mid-sized)

agreed lurking. I had a Titan 4 door a few years back, and while great on size, I honestly never used it. Also only got about 14.5 mpg also

Looked at both. The Tundra rear seat is HUGE. You could put a couch back there. You can literally stretch your legs out completely. It's almost too big.

Ended up with a Tacoma double cab. We've done several road trips this year and I've had no complaints from the kids or wife. They've all sat in the back for hours. What I do like about the Tacoma rear seats is that they are a bit higher than the front. This allows you to see over the top of the front passengers and out in all directions which helps it feel less restrictive.

I'm 5'9", my wife is is 5' 6", my son is 15 and currently 5' 7", and my 12 yo daughter is about 5' 3". Nobody complains about the back seat.

I don't really think price is the determinant of buying a Tacoma vs tundra, they have very different uses

correct chopper....I am trying to get them at $37000....i know some people bash for paying that vs an SR5 or in my case it would be a TRD Sport and then modding it, but I did my homework and with putting on a comparable suspension front and rear, upgrading wheels and a set of BFG AT's plus labor to put on, it is one half dozen the other for me. I dont have the tools like some to put the lift and such on and I really like the look of the TRD Pro with the grill and inferno color. So that is my reasoning.
