    Hi all,
Trying to get input. The Double Cab Tacoma already has an under seat storage compartment with doors. What would you think about a bolt in aluminum compartment with aluminum locking lids. I currently am manufacturing an under seat system for the Tundra Crewmax, but some of the Tacoma guys at work said they would like me to do one for the Tacoma. Something that you can lock up valuables in the truck without worrying about them. Or a way that you can lock up a gun so you can transport it in the truck legally and not in the bed. Thoughts?

Are you talking about completely replacing the plastic storage with aluminum but with locking lids? And would it be the same exact dimensions or would it be bigger or smaller?

Yes and not sure yet if I can make it bigger, but would be the same dimensions.

I think you're on to something. There appears to be lots of wasted plastic space both underneath and behind the rear seats.

I'd be interested if a larger compartment was created. No need for a lockable firearm transport area in this state.

I'd definitely be interested. You've got the right idea flowing. Sub'd for pics of the tundra design vs. stock though.

I'd definitely be interested to see such a creation. Locking storage like that would certainly be useful.

I think someone above me already mentioned it, but if it was lockable and I may be interested.

Interested. I understand the storage under the seats is secure and all, but there is just no space. If a full storage compartment is being made I would really like it to be accessible from both the front and the top when you fold the seat down because I do like the storage doors. They look super clean. Could it possibly incorporate the current doors?

I'd like to see a total replacement of the bottom of the seat storage. I'm ready to take rear seat out of mine. It's never used.

The only problem I can see so far is the drive shaft hump. It comes up at least 3/4" up and you loose some of that space.
