Sorry I should have worded better . I didn't mean the fabtech was more popular I was saying the 3 inch via 5100s is more popular on the forum

It looks okay I'm a little bummed because the tires say 33x12.50r17 micky thompson mtz radials but on there website under specifications it has that tire as 32.8 not a big deal just curious if that small of a deference would be visually noticiable I saw other trucks with 6 inch lifts and 33s but I feel my tires look even smaller than there's?

IMHO you need to just leave it alone. If it bothers you that bad and you didn't take a bath in buying it Toyota Tacomas seem to really hold their value, trade it in on a different Tacoma that fits what you want.

I like the look of the truck, but why do people lift 2 wheel drive trucks and put 35" tires on them? Kind of seems like putting lip stick on a pig....

Is starting over not an option? Offload that thing and buy a stock truck.

It's CA (but same goes for AZ) - I work in both states and 95% of the lifted trucks don't ever see any dirt at all! It's just for looks and because there's only a few areas that get snow they have lots of 2WD

I guess that makes sense. I don't off road, and doubt I ever lift my truck, but I can appreciate the look of a lifted truck.

I couldn't justify paying gas and loss of power running big tires and not using it off road.

while i'm sure you've considered it already, i would list that thing and hope that someone out there has outrageously lifted taco-fever and is willing to give you the same money you spent on it. after that, lesson learned and start over with the truck your hoping to hack and slash this one into.

Just change the spacer lift. Front should be 6 inch, change it b to 4. Rear blocks should be 3 inches, just change it to 1.

That's what I was wondering if it would work cause I know I have that 6" spacer on the front coils wondering if I could just stick a 4" instead and if it would be okay I'm worried the lower control arm would be sitting on the bump stops though

Your best option for you would be to replace the front shocks with the rcd longer 5100s. This will put you at 5" in front with your stock coils. I know rcd has the lift advertised as a 4.5 but it actually lifts it 5 in the front. This will give you a better ride and lower it a lil plus you can run 33's and it will look fine. In the back just replace your leaf pack with some expos with will give you 4" in the rear. The p/n for the longer bilsteins is f4-be5-e122-to. I ran these same shocks on my db lift and then you won't have to run that big top hat spacer and the ride will be a lil better also.

Please don't buy a rough country 4 or 6" lift. I have had a few people contact me with having problems with that lift. Because of the fabtech lift they cut the full length of the front and rear crossmember so you could weld in a new crossmember using square tubing. I have seen a member on here do this going from a fabtech kit to lt. It seems like alot of work to me to go thru all that just to come down 2 inches.

Just run some 33" and if you do like i recommended above you shouldn't have any rubbing issues at all.

I had a 4" db kit on mine and bumped it up to 6" while running 33's and liked the look of it.

fyi If the previous owner had installed any other db kit on your truck bds/zone/rcd/procomp etc since your are 2wd they wouldn't of had to cut the crossmember at all.

I'm thinking of ditching my 6" as well. This might help the OP as well, but is the only thing you have to fabricate is a new crossmember? Or is there anything else that will need to be redone or other parts I will need to gather? Thinking of lowering my truck back down, possibly leveling it, and saving up for a supercharger. I miss the gas mileage and what power the truck did have. Sure would miss the look of my truck though.

No I was saying just change your front shocks with the bilstein f4-be5-e122-to which is the shock used on the rcd kit. This will also eliminate the top hat spacer on your kit now and lower you down to 5" in front. Link below to where you can get them.
On the link the price is for 1 ea.

This guy replaced his crossmember after taking off his lift. On page 30 he shows pics of this.
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-builds/213614-aaronarfs-2012-dcsb-build-30.html

If you want better gas mileage I would just loose those heavy ass mt tires and get a nice at tire. I used to get 17-18 with 33" toyo at II's and a 6" lift.
