If you have owned a Ford in the past your answer would be easy. Let's just say I've owned a few Fords and the only ford left in my stable is a 1970. Every other Ford has returned back to earth as dust.

The Full LED headlights are a separate line option but in some areas you never find them without the LEDs on premiums

Only Fords I have owned were Mustangs and had a few from 1988,89,90,92, 93. 06 Cobra, 08 GT built bad ass ride. All were perfect for me as a play toy car but I like the Tacoma better. I don't need a full size truck nor the room. I hate parking a large truck but my DCLB is a little easier to park than a full size. I prefer running around town in my classic minty 99 4Runner. Nobody can make your mind up, make a decision.

that's a good price on the tacoma but of those two choices, i would choose the f150 tremor for your needs.

I have a few friends who started having some pretty bad drivability issues with 3.5's right after about 100k miles. But a lot of people don't keep stuff that long. One had turbos fail, the other had all kinds of ignition issues. These were not first gen trucks either. Another (who was a former ford master tech) had a 5.0 with 150k on it that ran and drove perfect. But the 3.5 has way more power than a tacoma. And depending on how you drive the mileage could be better. I'm on my second 3rd gen now and 18 toyota trucks overall since the late 80's. My first 3rd gen was an auto. Mileage was pretty damn impressive. My truck was stock but I drive 100 miles a day and was averaging 20 mpg. Lots of that over 70 on the highway. Now I have a manual. WAY WAY better driving experience overall. The automatic kinda sucks. Like one of the worst I have ever driven. But now I average more like 18.5 mpg. But I'm also on slightly oversize tires with a 2" lift also.

I hit the same crossroad this past May. I was leaning towards the 2.7 EB in the F150 or the Tacoma. Liked the size of the Ford and the expected reliability and resale of the Tacoma. The Ford probably does a little better on gas but when it hits 100k you'll be looking to get out of it most likely expecting big repairs. I don't like the idea of turbos on lawnmower engines but I do hear great things about the 2.7 not so much on the 3.5. Happy I bought the Tacoma. If I ever had buyers remorse, it proves up to this point, that it will be easier to sell. I have a 17 Wrangler I bought for my wife knowing all its shortcomings and bought it anyway. She loves it but I know they sell pretty easy too....just in case. I think Tacoma and Wrangler are 1 and 2 as far as resale value.. PS don't buy a Wrangler! It's one step below horseback as far as comfort. Wife doesn't know any better.

Well we went for a test drive. The ford drives nicer, wife and kids obviously liked the size of the back seat. Heavily leaning tremor now…

Do what you have to do but I would never buy a Ford. Had bad experiences over the years with Ford, GM products never with Toyotas this is why I stick with them. Love the Tacos. Rides nice,no noise inside etc etc. I have no kids so to me it is ok. just saying

That actually seems to be a fair price for the taco. Wait 6 months and probably not… prices have peaked and are falling.

run premium fuel in that EB ford will tell you regular is fine just like all the other manufactures. And a oil separator for the exhaust gases that get sent back in to get burned. Even though they added a pre injector. I'm a ford guy and always have been but not afraid to say they messed up by not having the separator and requiring premium. just my 2 cents.

We have a larger suv as a family hauler. This is more of driving to from job sites during the week and occasional family car when needed on weekend. I am flexible on size.

Yes, I did end up deciding on the Tremor. Few reasons….
    - got a hell of a deal as they were clearing ‘22s off the lot even though it had just arrived.
    - interest rates on ‘22 Ford were 1.49.
    - backseat space (this wasn’t a deal breaker as the Tacoma was plenty for my needs)
    - coming from a large ‘14 fx4 with 6” bds and 35s the Tacoma did feel small in the road. It really felt narrow to me.

Here it is, I pick it up next week. They are tinting and doing linex bedliner for free. I also paid for dripless oil under spray, husky mats and wheel liners, all currently being completed.
Thanks for the help guys !

Guess you haven't been on here long... Sounds just like half the Tacoma's on here. Missing the same stuff, read through the threads. So, Ford and Toyota, pretty much the same your saying....lol

Well, congrats on getting the Ford. Start saving money now because once that warranty is up it's gonna start costing you. It seems like once that Odometer rolls over to 100K it starts a countdown clock on a bomb.

It is a test of the latest and greatest vs overbuilt to last and mostly gets the job done.

3.5 EB is straight junk. Timing chains, turbos, leaks. The metal clip coolant hoses break if you look at them funny. Under hood heat management is terrible, by 100k all the plastic clips and wire looms are brittle. I won’t bring go into detail the electrical nightmares I’ve had to diagnose in the last 5 years on those trucks. I’d take a dodge over a ford right now.
