Good call! I first suspected the shock was toast but the bottom mount looked ok. I didn't realize it was even possible to break the limiter internally. That's insane. How does that even happen?!!

We'll even I wasn't quite right, because you also managed to break the piston off the shock shaft. You could pick up one 5100 and swap over all the toytec parts, or use it as a good excuse to upgrade to something better.

    Beacuse 5100s... :tinfoilhat:

Well so now i have question. Can you really on the 5100's belt in limiter to limit down travel? Or should a limiting strap be used? Was mine a fluke or could it happen again?

The correct answer is that if you're going to be topping out your suspension regularly, a limit strap will help prevent shock failure.

The answer I want to give you is that it wasn't a fluke, 5100s are over-recommended POS shocks, and they'll just fail is some other way even after you strap them. FWIW, here's how the same setup ruined a buddy's trip:

So my next question is can the beefier 6112 be used with the rest of the toytec setup?

A quick search says no. The 6112 is 60mm. More along the lines of the toytec boss coilovers
