Downshift on Hills and ECT

    The ECT button is very helpful going up hills and holding gears longer. I did notice that sometimes going up a hill if I go from having the ECT button off, and then turn it on, the truck downshifts. I don't mind and sort of like getting that burst of torque. Just surprised me the first time it happened as I thought ECT was only meant to hold upshift points longer.

    ECT has increased throttle limits per gear per given accelerator input.
    So you basically reach the engine load that forces the downshift.
    Downshift points are identical between S and D modes

    Put it in sport and down shift works the best. It will let you freely shift between 6-2. If the speed or rpms are too high it will not let get into 1st. A little buzzer will sound. So you have a safety catch just in case. I love sport mode in the mountains, even more since I reversed the shifting on S mode.
