    I've been driving a manual for the last 16 years. I've put nearly 300,000 miles on a manual transmission. For the first time i own an automatic. My 2009 is VERY smooth. I really like it. I have a tendency to downshift it like i would a manual. Is this hard on the automatic transmission?

    Actually, Its the Data logger that tracks it. And only 5 min loops.

    I often do it when I find I have to get on the binders harder than I want to, so I will use the transmission to spread out the deceleration between it and the brakes. I know, its cheaper to replace pads than tranny parts but come on, many of you guys work your trannys harder wheeling than I do using it to decelerate.

    Bingo!! I drove a Manual for several years, before that I drove a 67 mustang auto, now my tacoma is an auto. Downshifted all of em, no problem.
