    Just got back from driving a few more of the roads we will be on.
    Found that the convenience store up in Windsor that was going to be our gas stop has pumps that are not in service. There is another place down the road a bit that we can go to through.
    Found the grave site of Israel Bissell too. If people are interested in seeing it, we could stop there. Little bit off the route, but not by much.

    Any idea? I ran the swr meter again and now it's showing 4.5 on channel 40 and 9.6 on channel 1. No clue

    Mine did that too when I first connected it. Trying to rethink what I did. :rolleyes:

    Before I removed the antenna and mount to scratch paint off to get a better ground the swr was 1 and 1.3 so idk what I did that really changed the swr

    Okay. What I noticed about mine (I have the same one), is that any small adjustment made a huge difference and I got my best results in an empty parking lot with no trees or buildings around.
    Hope that helps. :fingerscrossed:

    I bet it is the tip. Just that little change threw it off. That would be my guess.

    Hmm. Guess I'll have to go somewhere and try that but I've turned the tip quite a bit and it didn't even change it a tenth

    That does sound like a connection/grounding thing.

    @Boston10Taco @jjsul @Blais03
    Any suggestions?

    Not sure if I ruined anything but figure whatever I'll try it. Just switch the insulation ring to below the mounting level and now I have SWR both channels about 1.6 a passing antenna match and a failing RF out

    How so? I had the insulation ring above the mounting surface before. That's what I was getting failed antenna pass RF out and terrible swr.

    Don't get this shit at all haha. So I took it off and remounted it with the insulaltion ring above the mounting surface like I was supposed. Ran the dials again and passed on both out and antenna match. But the swr was 1.6 on channel 1 and 4.2 on channel 40. So I tuned the tip a little and got both channels at 2.0 and now it's back to saying pass on antenna match and fail on RF :angrygirl::angrygirl:
